2023 Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation CURE-NAMENT Tournament Rules 

While this is a fun fishing tournament, we do need guidelines to ensure it’s also fair. It’s the responsibility of all anglers and participants to read and understand these rules and regulations that govern The Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation CURE-NAMENT. This tournament is open to all anglers.

TOURNAMENT CHANNEL 78

RULE 1 Entry fee is $400 per boat for 4 anglers and includes 2 tournament shirts ($100 each additional angler (includes an additional tournament shirt)) Entries on the day of the Captain’s Party may not receive tournament shirt. Extra shirts will be available for purchase at Captain’s Party. Tournament reserves the right to retain 10% of all registration and added value payout payments. Payout is 90%.

RULE 2 Registered anglers are responsible for providing their own fishing vessel and must have a valid Florida fishing license.

RULE 3 Check Out: Saturday, October 7, 2023 from any inlet. Lines in at 6:30 AM.

RULE 4 Check in: All boats must be checked into Hillsboro inlet or Palm Beach Inlet, evidenced with a photo or video showing inlet and boat number by 4:00 PM. There is NO lines out time.

RULE 5 Fishing area is Florida waters only. Boats may fish as far north as the “Loran Tower” 27.05 North Loran Tower and as far south as you wish. Fishing in the Bahamas will be automatically disqualified. The fishing limits of this tournament are no more than twenty-five (25) miles offshore of the east coast of Florida.

RULE 6 All IGFA rules apply to the Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation CURE-NAMENT. Wire lines are permitted. The use of electric reels (except kite rods and downriggers) are prohibited. Stinger hooks must be firmly imbedded or firmly attached to the bait. Exception: Gaff may be up to 12 feet in length; this is contrary to IGFA rules but acceptable for The Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation CURE-NAMENT.

RULE 7 Live bait, dead bait and lures are permitted. Live chumming is prohibited.

RULE 8 Mutilated fish are not eligible. Any fish that has been tampered with to increase the weight shall be disqualified and removed from the tournament. The weigh master’s decision is final.

RULE 9 The following species are eligible: Kingfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, Cobia and Tuna.

RULE 10 Scoring – One point will be awarded per pound, per fish with a 10 lb. minimum per fish. Fish not meeting minimum weight will not count. All boats must adhere to Florida recreational bag limits as they pertain to all eligible species. To view current recreational bag limits, visit www.myfwc.com. A maximum of 1 fish per species, per boat may be weighed. A maximum of 5 fish per boat may be weighed.

RULE 11 All boated catches may be reported at time of catch to the committee boat, by boat number and angler name. While not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that anglers call in fish in order to determine which fish would be the tie-breaker in case of a tie in weight. In the event of a tie where neither fish was called in, the anglers shall split the award. Boats must enter the inlets near weigh in station by 4 pm, evidenced by a photo, showing the inlet and boat number. (Hillsboro Inlet and Palm Beach Inlet by 4:00 PM).  Weigh-in at Sands Harbor Resort and Marina, Pompano Beach and satellite scales at Sailfish Marina, Riviera Beach. Weigh-in time 3-5pm.

RULE 12 Tournament officials will monitor VHF radio channel 78. Back up channel is 74. Please use a relay if you cannot contact the committee boat on channels 78 or 74.

RULE 13 Cash and prizes (To be determined the week before tournament based on entries), but estimated for the following:

Heaviest overall of any species Kingfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, Cobia and Tuna

1st – $3000 and prizes
2nd – $1500 and prizes
3rd – $500 and prizes

Lady Angler – Heaviest Fish – 1 Blackfin Fin 130 black rod with pink trim (value $265) and sterling silver necklace

Junior Angler (7-15 years) – Heaviest Fish – Cash and prizes

Added Value Payouts (Payouts are 50/30/20 but may adjusted depending on # of boat entries). Tournament reserves the right to retain 10% of all registration and added value payout payments. Payout is 90%.

Heaviest Fish (Kingfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, Cobia, Blackfin Tuna) – $100

4 fish boat aggregate (only weighing 2 per species) – $100
Heaviest Kingfish – $100
Heaviest Wahoo – $100
Heaviest Dolphin – $100
Heaviest Blackfin Tuna – $100
Heaviest Cobia – $100
Heaviest Bonita – $50
(Others may be added)

RULE 14 Registration fees will not be refunded for any reason.

RULE 15 Weather: If tournament is postponed due to weather, an alternate date will be chosen.

RULE 16 Registered junior anglers 14 and under are eligible for all awards.

RULE 17 BY REGISTERING FOR THIS TOURNAMENT, you acknowledge & AGREE THAT EACH CAPTAIN ACCEPTS FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY FOR THEIR CREW AND IT IS AT HIS OR HER DISCRETION TO FISH OR NOT TO FISH.

Understanding the inherent risks, I individually and as a team, AGREE TO RELEASE FROM ANY LIABILITY AND TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation and its officers, directors, employees, servants, volunteers and agents from any liability, claims, causes of action, demands, costs, obligations or financial responsibility of every kind and nature, for any incident, injury or accident occurring to myself, team member, or member of my family, while engaging in or observing any activity at Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation CURE-NAMENT. By agreeing to this indemnification, I am knowingly and willingly choosing to be financially responsible for any future claims brought against Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation.

I acknowledge that I am voluntarily electing to participate in such activities. Knowing of the risks, I hereby EXPRESSLY AGREE to HOLD HARMLESS and INDEMNIFY Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Foundation for any claims. PHOTOS MAY BE USED FOR SOCIAL MEDIA & PROMOTIONAL ITEMS. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY THE PARTICIPATION OF ANY PARTY.

Any protest concerning a rule violation must be submitted prior to the presentation of the awards. Protests must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Committee and must be accompanied by a $500 check that will be refunded if the protest is upheld by the Tournament Committee. All decisions made by the Tournament Committee are final and official.
